I am seeking highly motivated graduate students to join the lab. Upcoming projects will explore the ecological, social, and biocultural dimensions of biodiversity conservation in urban and urbanizing systems.
Broad areas for project development include:
- Wildlife/fish harvest and trade in global cities (e.g. New York City, Boston)
- Impacts of urbanization and coastal development on biodiversity and local communities
- Human-wildlife interactions and conservation in urbanizing systems
If you are a prospective graduate student with an interest in these or similar topics, please contact Prof. Rivera (cj.rivera@umb.edu).
Prospective graduate students should review the MS and PhD programs offered at the School for the Environment at UMass Boston. Current UMB undergraduate students can schedule an in-person meeting to discuss opportunities.
